Lady's mantle
Lady's mantle or Liebfrauenmantel bears the name "Alchemilla" in Latin, which means "little alchemist" and thus refers to the centuries-long tradition in European folk medicine. The German name of the plant comes from the resemblance of the leaves to the shape of a dignified and graceful cloak of a Marian figure from the Middle Ages.
Originally native to Eastern Europe and Asia, lady's mantle now thrives throughout Europe, including Germany, France, the Alpine region and the Mediterranean. Lady's mantle belongs to the rosaceae, the rose family. It is a herbaceous plant that grows about 50 cm high, mostly on damp meadows and green hills.
Already among the alchemists in the Middle Ages, the crystal-clear and pearl-like "guttation drops" of the lady's mantle were of particularly high value. The tips of the leaves of the lady's mantle form these drops, which then collect as pure drops of water in the centre of the pretty leaf goblet.
Tigofem contains 370 mg of high-quality lady's mantle extract from France per capsule. The leaves are extracted in a gentle extraction process with water only, completely without solvents.
